Darlene Aspinwall  - Practice Manager

Darlene has worked for our practice since March 1992, she began as a receptionist, then on to become a technician, and then became practice manger in 2000.  Darlene has 2 pets:  TJ & Kitty.   She is an avid reader, and enjoys gardening, and spending time with her daughter and grandaughter.  She is a member of the Veterinary Hospital Mangers Association, and has 100+ hours of continuing education.  She has holds an AA degree from SJRCC, and attended UF working on her BS degree in Animal Science & is currently a student at St. Petersburg College.  When asked why she choose the field of veterinary medicine:  " I have always had an interest in the field of medicine, and of course always enjoyed working with animals."  Her special interest in the field are emergency medicine, dentistry,  and orthopedics.

Wanda Rutkiewicz - Administrative Assistant

 

Wanda Rutkiewicz has worked for our practice since 1986.  Wanda works in accounts payable and also helps out of the front desk working with our clients.  She has 3 dogs and 1 cat.  Wanda has accumulated some continuing education over the years in subject including:  Basic CPR, Managing Anesthetic Emergencies in the dog and cat, Heartworm Disease and prevention.  Wanda has enjoyed working in veterinary medicine over the many years and asked why she chooses this profession – For the love of the animals.  Her special interest in veterinary medicine is helping the pet owners deal with the loss of their long time friends and companions.  In her spare time Wanda enjoys scrapbooking and spending time with her pets and granddaughter. 


Shelby Hoadley - Receptionist

Shelby has worked for our practice since 2002.  Shelby has attended 2 years of veterinary receptionist training and has a certificate for both years.  She has 20+ hours of continuing education from attendence at the The North American Veterinary Conference.  She is a student at SJRCC, studying business administration, and plans to transfer to UF next spring.  Shelby's has a particular interest in radiology, obstetrics, and client communication (customer service).  When asked why she choose the field of veterinary medicine:  "I have a love for animals, and being a part of a team that is dedicated to helping all the little critters is a great feeling."  She enjoys spending time with her daughter, going to the beach, the springs, running, and trips to the mountains.  She has also had the opportunity to swim with manatees.


Felician Tapley - Receptionist / Technician

Felicia has worked for our practice since 2003.  She has 9 pets:  3 dogs, 3 horses, and 3 casts.  She enjoys riding her horses, spending time with her family, and being a grandmother to her 5 grandchildren (with 2 more on the way).  Felicia has had the opportunity to travel throughout the years, and has enjoyed and seen many beautiful places, some of her favorites are:  Niagra Falls (Canada), the islands, San Fransico, and Paris, France.  When asked why she choose the field of veterinary medicine:  "I have always had compassion for all animals and just want to help them all, domesticated and wild.  What better place to be able to help them."  Felicia's special interest is equine.  She feels they are wonderful animals.  "They never forget, but will forgive us!!"


Vicki Andreasen - Receptionist / Administrative assistant

Vicki began working for our practice in July of 2008. 

 

 


Kristen Andreasen - Technician Assistant

Kristen began working for our practice in July of 2008.  She is currently attending University of Florida.

 


Genia Purves - Technician Assistant & Receptionist

Genia has worked for our practice since September 2008.  She has 4 pets - all dogs - a dacshund, pit bull, sheltie, and a min pin (what a mix).  I her spare time she enjoys riding motorcycles.  Genia is working on her certification to become a certified veterinary assistant.  When asked why she chose the field of veterinary medicine - "Its a great satisfaction to help and heal animals", her special interests are working in radiology and cytology.

Chloe Shoucair - Small & Large Animal Technician

Chloe has worked for our practice since May 2011.  She graduated from the University of FL with a BS in Animal Science with a specialization in Equine Industry, she is also working on her certification on line for veterinary assistant, and plans to apply to St. Petersburg College to work on becoming a CVT (certified veterinary technician).  Chloe has 2 cats - Belle and Squirt.  In her spare time she enjoys horseback riding, reading, and spending time with family and friends.  When asked why she chose the field of veterinary medicine - "I love animals and the medical field, vet medicine combines these interests.  There's always new things to learn and interesting cases to work on."  Her special interests involves anything with large animals, especially horses.

Pamela Brown - Technician/Rreceptionist

Pam has worked for our practice at various periods of time for the past 10 years, she has 4 dogs, 1 cat, and a hamster.  Pam has done some vocational work and the Santa Fe Zoo, and holds an AA Degree.  Pam enjoys spending time with her dogs and children in her spare time.  When asked why she chose the field of veterinary medicine -"I have a great love for all animals."  Her special interest is rehabilitation, she says nothing more gratifying than making them better and seeing them live a good life.
